If it were to wind up rubber side up, those wouldn't have done much anyway; they weren't designed for that. That's where the seatbelts bolted.
Nissan shipped coupes to a company called ASC and they turned it into a vert; halfassedly.

Most verts have the seatbelts mounted just behind the door (which is what I have done with little modification).

Just have to get some coupe or hatch door panels now.

Thanks for the compliments. Now if I could only rid the other pieces behind them; well I could cut them off just as easily, but the cover won't bolt up right and would still look as if it were still there anyway. There is someone on NICO fabbing something up ATM.

Really cool feature allowing me to modify my post when someone posted while I was typing this reply BTW

They're great. With this mod I'm just above the weight of a base model coupe, so that's no longer a downside.

I don't know how much you know about them, but there were only 8320 manufactured in model years 92-94. Probably only half that still in circulation. This one is a bit rusty, but I decided to save it because there aren't many. If you want to know more:

http://www.240sxconvertible.com/

I never thought I would like a vert, but my buddy has a GST vert and we went cruisin around one night and it was awesome! Perfect weather, BOV just singin away.
All I need now is my motor!

Well crap, if it proposes no real safety threat I say great job.

Now, are you referring to the bump right behind that area? In the trim? That you want to remove?

In the trim? It's the piece that is still left. It looks different in the second pic because It's covered. If you look at the second pic you will see the plastic piece that covers it; it also bolts to it and acts as a piece of weather stripping for the rear windows.

nope, I read it same way.

Good solution - OEM door.
Better solution - Fiberglass doors.
