Working with bondo? Empty Working with bondo?

Post by mmm240 Mon Mar 30, 2009 6:06 pm

As most of you have probably seen the vert has got some cancer. I don't know quite what I'm doing, but Imma give it a try! I've got some degreaser, rust converter, gallon of bondo, wire brush, and an orbital sander.

Got any tips for me?

Try to get down to the shinny bare metal, after that u know the rust is completely gone, then a thin coat of bondo and ur all set, sand with a coarse sandpaper then work ur way down to something more fine....
But yeah like mike said take ur time it will pay of at the end...

Dont pack holes with filler, filler has the ability to absorb water from behind if you fill a hole with it. Weld then filler.

Let me know how the bondo went, am thinking about trying it myself. Have a couple of spots I want to fix.
