What a noob.

Post by 240nspec on Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:29 pm

The names Kevin, from the waukesha, Milwaukee area. Big S Chassis guy, have the ol' 91 Fastback SE right now, currently in storage for winter (winter, it's getting old real quick). In the midst of decision making on what route I want to go with my car, runnin a 2k budget right now, we'll see where it goes, otherwise im always down for a cruise or an event. granted im not working or at college. Hope to meet all of you here, I know I won't be on very often due to my intensive schedule as of now, but im sure when school's out, and when my fuel driven heart get's a pumpin again in the summer im sure ill be willing and rarin' to go!

Hell yeah! Im s torn on what to do, well the way I look at it, regardless if I swap, turo, or stay NA KA an exhaust is universal afro so after that the sky is the limit! (well maybe not the sky, bout' 1.5k remaining ROLLEYE ) I wanted to spif up the under body to with a little black paint, after I sand the cancer out (pic of under posted below) I do have a Single Alpine S12 sub in their now, i already made 2 10" box's to throw in there, along wih a new box for the 12" should be a bumpin time, Have a stage 1 exedy clutch, and a mishimoto radiator currently, cut a/c belt (soon to be a/c delete) pullin the backseats more than likely for weight and room for the new subs (so I can fit the subs, I like the ability to get to my spare as I do have a tendency to go into curbs with my other car HA i think I can drift...)

Some Pics Yo'

The usual Damn rust!

ha! maybe if it was a V6 it would be closer, I know my 240 is matched perfectly with a 220hp 220tq 3.8v6 @ ~3400lbs. And the better of a TDI through 3rd gear until boost kicks in Smile

My best run was around 16.1 however I've spoken with a few other 240 guys from around the area saying 15.7 was norm, I'm runnin on bald tires as of now and the rears were set at about 25psi and the front about 38, even with new tires I don't think personally my car would have hit 15.7 I was given it its all, nonetheless my 3rd gear synchro seems to on its way out (And I have NO clue how to rebuild that). That's why i'm leaning towards a swap w/ a new tranny, wouldn't have to deal with it. Looks like ill be spending a good 1400 on getting back into tip top shape (brakes, rotors, exhaust, test pipe, (not included in the estimate is possibly a header due to pictures looking like they are damn near rusted through), underbody repainting/derusting materials, hatch repair (rusted through at few points, I spot welded and filled several holes, but on needs to be completely cut out and a plate needs to be inserted), some carpeting for my sub boxes, tires, tie rod boots, oil and filter, and a set of fresh headlights. Once I'm at that point, I have a good foundation to do a swap. From what I hear from MANY people, not just you guys is that thing needs to be lowered, so another 450 will goto Skunk2 Lowering Springs (1.50 Rear and 1.70 Front), and the Skunk2 Sport Shocks. I know it's not much but for the money I have, I'll slam em, and in conjunction with most likely a lower hanging exhaust, I would like to remain streetable in wisconsin Wink any drop will be better than none... and one day can any one say loan for the swap? cheers

An Rb25det sounds pretty boss bout' now.

Don't take out a loan to mod your car, thats retarded. If you can't afford it you don't need it. I had a buddy who did that, took him a long time to get that shit paid off.

WTF do you want with an RB, SR's rule the road.

Yeah, definately want to do something... Just purchased the de-rusting materials, bunch o sandpaper, and some undercoating to finish it all so step 1 of restoration.

was thinking just in the meantime I throw some juice on the KA until it decides to go, then I'll have to swap something in Smile its purely temporary, universal so I don't lose it when I do swap, plus its a relatively cheap thrill...
