Post by driven_ Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:25 pm

hey guys, some of you mighve seen me over the weekend at the nissan/midwest meet. i was the asian guy with the bright ass blue jacket. Lol.

anyways, my brother, his old highschool buddy, and i have been putting together a website called...

www.JDMORIGINS.com

solely a U.S. Online magazine focused on classic japanese cars.

i encourage you guys to check it out and show your friends, your mom, your friends moms, and and your friends mom's tupper-ware-selling-friends.

the more hits you guys give us (we get paid by ads, and make like 5 cents a month so far. Crying or Very sad ) the more stuff and better stuff we will have up.

hopefully soon we'll have stickers so you guys can help promote us, and we can help promote you (free photoshoots/features in exchange of promotion if your car is old-school and JDM-tyte)

i wrote an article about the meet this weekend. its not too interesting, but its my first actual article on the site (i've been putting up videos, and coding is a PITA).

its not officially published, but i hope it will be soon.

here's a preview (from me.) and you can only see it by clicking the link below.

if you have any concerns with us using your car (i hope not, all your cars look nice!), let us know.

otherwise, please leave comments on the articles and tell us how we're doing, a little motivation would really help!

a lot to read above, but thanks!

-peter xiong.

EDIT: link stopped working.

article is below.

While this cold season (in the Midwest) starts setting in, we car enthusiasts are forced to start clearing our parts that are laying around the garage, and then we have to pull out those snow-blowers and get them ready for the snow. But before we do so, many of us like to set up last minute car meets. You may ask "Why?" Well, the answer is because we like to see what our friends have done over the summer, and what kind of progress has been made.

On a cold Saturday afternoon, October 10th, 2009, a few of the local Milwaukee, WI and surrounding area enthusiasts gathered at Greenfield Park, in Milwaukee, WI and chatted up about what the summer brought them and what they planned to do when summer rolls over again. Majority of the cars were Nissans/Datsuns, most of which were the 240SX crowd. The chilly meet also brought out a couple Hondas, Scions, and Toyotas, and many other "new-school" cars.

One of the most beautiful cars seen there was a white Datsun Z, which may look familiar if you've seen the 'Hot Import Nights: Chicago' article. Completely refreshed with a beautiful sparkling chrome L-series motor. Also rolling into the parking lot with it, were two other 300ZX's, and a new-school 350Z. All four ceased conversations, and turned heads as they roared into the parking lot.

While the Z series turned heads, the other singled-out cars also got attention. One of the few that were also the 'talk of the town', were the little boxy Honda 'Wagovan', the sleek Scion crew from Chicago, and the white 'Zenki' 1995 240SX, that had minty-fresh 35,000 original miles, and the 'baller-spec' Toyota Cressida that was dumped and tuckin' tires on (Mitsubishi) Starion wheels. Rumor is, that same cressida had a change of heart later that night, swapping out the 7MGTE, and 1JZGTE went in.

Speaking, of the JZ series motors, we saw this little 92 Nissan 240SX that looked pretty plain and blended in with the rest of the 240SX's there.... Until the hood was popped open! In the engine bay squished tightly in there was a monsterous 2JZGTE motor. The engine bay had a flashy bright pink valve cover, cooling panel, and other bright pink misc. parts. In the cockpit it was easily noticeable this car was automatic, but this was no ordinary automatic 240SX. This automatic 240SX was out to eat and tear at every little rice-rocket out there. Before you race this plain sleeper, make sure you see the sticker that reads "WARNING: You Will Get Beat By A Girl".

Although we did not set up this event, we would like to thank you all for bringing out your nice cars in this frigid weather so that we could all see them!

If you have any questions/comments/concerns please email us.
