Best place to go?
I was wondering where a good place would be to take the 240 and get it tuned....Ill more then likely have it done while im in IL and dont mind coming up to Chi or the burbs for a couple days...s.....
so heres what im looking for
1. A place that deals alot with Nissan's, or other imports on a regular basis.
2. Good rates on renting the dyno.
3. Good rates for the one thats doing the tuning.
So can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks
Matt

Re: Best place to go?
Well, i'm not sure that many places "rent there dyno" IF you wanna tune your own car on a Dyno i know one in West Bend Wi. (west bend dyno)
but if you want someone to tune the car, I would go to SP (sound performance,A-Spec Tuning) those 2 places know imports pretty well....or you could check out AMS.

Re: Best place to go?
what are you tunning with?
not many ppl are specialized in tunning with a APFC.
aka certified to do it.
i was talking to chris @ AMS and he was saying he could tune it.
then talked me into getting a AEM EMS with a built in boost selenoid and the aem wideband.
which is what i plan on doing.

Re: Best place to go?
For your setup I highly recommend getting a full standalone system. Figure out the cost of a NIStune and then try and price out some standalone units. Don't forget to tack on another $200 onto the NIStune for an individual liscence. Do the research on tech forums, and see what's best for you.
Check out Freshalloy.com and use the search button first.
Don't rush.

Re: Best place to go?
I have been talking to a dealer for NIStune and everything would cost me
210 for the board
95 for the consult cable
150 for the software license
and 50 for them to install the board
Then I would have to have it tuned
Im still looking around..... not in a hurry
just trying to get an idea of everything that I need before I start putting everything together.

Re: Best place to go?
D jetro eliminates your mass air flow sensor.
One expense thats not so obvious would be needing software for logging. I have FC datalogit @ 300 something bucks. I do like my power FC, although not as complex as the AEM setup.

Its better to tune off of MAP and not MAF.

Calum Real Time ecu if you have obd1. Its basically like a Nistune but with less options...free software, you can install if yourself if you can solder/desolder, etc. Still as effective.

Re: Best place to go?
I disagree and think a MAF will actually yield a car that drives better.
That said, I would rather have MAP honestly as long as it uses an IAT sensor. Just one less part to crap out and to deal with plumbing on.
Granted, I know dick about SR's so MEGAS may be right.
