Anyone in Chicago have a RB26DETT Swap that can help me out??

I have the S13 RB26DETT swap in progress with a RB25 Trans, Driveshaft, Diff. and also have the Skyline and KA engine loom getting rewired by McKinney Motorsports and the ECU reprogrammed by Jim Wolf Tech. Does anyone know anything about the swap that can be helpful information??

I'm also planning on getting another 240SX and would like to know if its worth putting a 2JZ Twin Turbo or LS6 supercharge engine on the car? Please all suggestions will be considered

Nope I'm not I have a flat black 240 that I bought from CA since all the 240's out here are rusted. I'm just asking for opinions not smart ass comments. I'm gonna be taking my car to ILL garage next week so they can start on it because the mechanic I had doesn't know shit. If I had the right tools I would do it myself and also do my brothers SR20.

As far as engine, the last thing I would do is engine swap or turbo. I would rather have an awesome looking car before having a fast car.

Yea I see what you mean thats why I spent my time working on the car and going to have ILL garage do some interior and possibly some body work but the car is rust FREE and looks pretty good now so thats why I'm starting the swap...

Vlad you're right its sounds like a rb swaps that will take a few years. Especialy if you don't know
anything about them or don't have tools.


So if you consider it put you're money where you're mouth is and go to a shop and when its ready your gonna realize it costs as much as getting a gtr or a supra anyway and it still has shit missing or something need replacing.

So my advice is get a rb25 or a 1jz that cost half as much than dump what u have left on suspension and brakes so u don't kill yourself with a old car like a 240.

lastly look at Full Race they have a project s14 that they swaped a full GTR drivetrain. LHD, RB26DETT, AWD

If you want something nobody has and have mad engineering skills consider this

get a rb30 block mod it to fit a hks n1 rb head figure out the timming issue than swap out the drivetrain from a gtr to a 240 that i would want to see

A BNR14 with a RB30DETT AWD thats would be sick.

There is a guy in Australia who did it with a rb30 block and a rb25 head and it ran 300+ hp with all stock parts

Yea I know but it's not costing me much and my 240 is 100% rust free so putting a rb26 really isn't a bad idea and really it's lighter and faster. Japan put an rb in a 180 and so far it's the fastest car in a 1/4 mile.... I guess you can talk to some like the way you talk if they don't have money but money for me istnt an issue and I've own a supra and skyline before and yes they are sweet cars but not as good as a 240sx...!!!

yea, like i said i know what im talking about since ive owed them before and a 240 is a better car as far as anything that has to do with handling. its an awesome drift car, and if you come to think about it... most drift competitions are won by 240sx. what you got done to yours

the reason why 240sx's are won by so many drift events is because the majority of ppl that drift run a 240 because they are cheap cars that have a lot of motor swaps for them that you can find almost anywhere. the community is huge and they are cheap. but prices are going up as more ppl total them or pop their motors. theres plenty of other cars that have yet to be touched but a deuce deuce is a wise decision accept for how they are known for understeer.

Yea they are cheap cars to build but cheap to purchase because they have rust and not many people know how to take care of them... A skyline and supra don't handle as well as a 240 does...
So greasemonkey why are you on here you seem to be very negative about 240's. Why don't you just sell your and give it to someone who actually appreciates the car.

240sx is a great car and will always be the best at drifting... Other cars just don't handle as good except the EVO but even that the S13 handles way better with a good drive...
