Post by DRFTBLD Thu May 14, 2009 7:27 am

I have a question. I am doing some research and I am trying to put together a list of all possible RWD cars that would suit the needs of drifting/autox for the brand new ppl. Most tend to go for the 240 but what are some other options out there?

Anyone got any ideas that could help.

Kinda?

The Conquests are wide bodied and the starion are not. Conquest is better looking. My buddy has a white one that reminds me of star wars.

Everything BMW is RWD... I don't know why more of them aren't drifted. They are available fairly reasonably used.

Flick, my buddy that has the white one lives down south. Car is a roller with no motor. No rust, and relatively new white paint if your interested.

Everyone failed to mention an S12. Is there something wrong with that Chassis? Not enough aftermarket support. Mmmmh, i think you can put a CA18DET or even an SR in one of those?

In Europe they are! but I mean there they are like Chevys lol.... out there they arent exactly cheap to get ahold of. Unless your talkin late 80s models, but either way parts are a bit on the pricey side.

I know it's an older post, but I couldn't sleep and stumbled across it. The guy who's brother owns the yellow 2jz conquest is a local DSMer and posts updates on the car every once in a while, I copied them below.

[quote=fastfive_ogt;131867]Well I said I would update on the project and tonight it ran. I must say before posting these videos I apologize about the quality and length because it was very late at night this happened and he didn't want to wake the entire neighborhood. With that said here they are.
This is the 1st start up ever and it is running PIG RICH.

And here is a very short clip once he got it tuned a bit but still needs much more. No where near done.

[quote=fastfive_ogt;141868]Ok guys here's the videos of the car Running at high school drags and at RSD. The last one is RSD and is the 11.8 pass. As we all know they don't show times at RSD so we got video of his time slip when he got in the pits. ENJOY.

[quote=fastfive_ogt;148716]All I can say is WOW. This car is crazy fast now on NOS and lauching off the spray at like 6000rpm. I will post a video which isn't that great qualithy. (taken from a camra). Will post better ones and more from a friend that took vids with a actual camcorder. I've never seen that car lauch this hard before. He made one pass lauching on the spray off the line. It hooked like hell, hung all the suspension and then ran out of spray. So it was running 10.8 afr the rest of the way down the track but still et'd to the tune of 11.10 @ 128.5mph with a 1.5 60ft. You can tell at the end of the vid I was very impressed it didn't break. OH YEAH ON 10" SLICKS NOW TOO. I believe that was the problem all the time with his lauching. He had no give at the line with the drag radials. Now he's on the ET drags it is giving him give on the line so he doesn't break. Definitely fast. Didn't lose a race all day and he went up against many drag cars/ trucks and a bunch of vettes. Giving him the title corvette killer. LOL. You hear it talked about in the begining of the video. Anyway I will update with better vids soon. Here you go. ENJOY.....
