Fuel Pumps Empty Fuel Pumps

Post by s_harris Thu Jul 16, 2009 3:36 am

I am looking For a "loud" fuel pump as in loud i mean the kind you actually hear themselves priming.I figured i would start here because of the members who done swaps. The reason i'm looking for one is I am reassured every time i hear that sound

That really all depends on how much stuff is between you and your fuel pump.

Just get a walbro... cheap and they work. I've been able to hear my walbro in my last 3 cars.

X2 one Walbro you will hear, but like liz said (2 or 3) are gonna get pretty loud.

my friend had 3 in his supra and without music on it got kind of annoying.

I can hear mine whining away, but the good news is that it is buried under my rear seat. My interior is currently out and it is annoying.

You want loud? Aeromotive A1000 sounds like a coffee grinder.

You want it loud just so you know its working? Id rather hook up a light to the 12v going to the fuel pump than have to hear it constantly while driving, at least i can turn the light off.

Yea but even if it's getting power who's to say the pump is working? The only way to know is to hear it kick on or have a fuel pressure gauge

It has been a week, and I am already annoyed with my dual walbro setup. Get a quiet pump and a fuel pressure gauge.
