EGR Removal
I'm thinking about taking off all my EGR and AC (it doesnt work compressor's broke) while i'm doing my timing chain. Anyone here running no EGR? And if you took it out was it all that hard? I was looking at how-to's on Nico but its not that great cuz pics are all broke.

Re: EGR Removal
I don't run an EGR its a pita if you have the stock exhaust manifold, my guesses are that its just as rusted as mine was. I have a DC sport header though so i eliminated it when i put that on. Nissan makes that bolt that fits into the hole to block of the EGR pipe to the intake manifold. i had my dad cut a piece of metal at work that i screwed in between the cast piece by the intake manifold. Ben eliminated it on his KA's but i'm sure he can tell you about that too. I think i lost 1-2 mpg by doing it. Overall i like it cuz it helps clean up the engine.

Re: EGR Removal
Welcome....What are you running? I had removed all my emissions garbage along with the EGR along with the A/C. There was a good write up awhile ago on projectmayhemo4.com. not sure if the site is still on. Good luck

Re: EGR Removal
Showing off the KA? Seriously, who cares. OH MY GOD LOOK HOW CLEAN THAT STOCK KA IS WITHOUT THE EGR!!!! Leave it alone, it doesn't affect performance because it's only function is to recirc exhaust when cruising, not when WOT. That's why your gas mileage goes to shit when you block it off.

Im not going for a clean look or performance, i'm going for more convience of working on my car. Less stuff in the way, and gas mileage, I think that's the least of anyones concern on here. If I wanted mileage i'd drive my ciivc or my VW.
