2010 - 240SX National Convention

Some of you may be aware of the event but some of you perhaps not. Regardless, there is a national 240SX convention being planned to happen sometime in the summer of this year. Regardless of the time and date I will be organizing a large caravan of cars from the Midwest ( Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc.) to cruise down to California. This has been in the works for 2 years and would be the first national meet of this scale since 2002.

I figure we can bring our midwest rust buckets down there and show them whats up.... so this thread will hopefully serve as a spot for updates and planning as well as a list of people who plan to attend. I am working with people in other states to organze local meets so that they can join our caravan as we make our way to California. So far here is the proposed route that covers most of the legendary Route 66:

Yeah but AAA only covers 100 miles for free. So you would still need to tow it to the nearest shop / parts store or whatever. Its a dooable trip, just gotta make sure that you look over all your most important areas. If your cars engine is about to die, then you wont make it LOL.

Look over brakes, look over the cooling system, get an oil change. New filters, make sure everything is tight and not about to fall off etc.

I cant say for everyone's swapped ./ turbo vehicle, but a healthy stock KA should easily make it there and back without a single issue.

That seems like a once in a lifetime event for 240 owners. How long will it take us to go there and back.

I would say roughly a week to two weeks. For starters its at least 2 days of driving if you drive without frequent stops. The event is 3 days long, so thats roughly 9 days, however someone suggested to make some stops at a few points to rest and "party it up" with the locals such as Arizona and Texas. This will obviously extend the trip. Therefore 2 weeks should be more then enough time. Regardless im going to try to plan this with a few other local groups in other states and see what we can come up with.

And yes, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

That would be awesome, I would have never seen so many 240s.

Well until the actual date is schedule im still trying to figure out the details. Once the official date is posted im going to try and figure out a concrete route filled with times and hotels and estimated costs.

Just an update there is an official date for it already!!!!

The dates are August 13, 14, and 15 2010 (Still happening in SoCal, Los Angeles Area).

I would so be down, but im kind of worried about stuff or even cars getting stolen, im sure we are fine here on this forum, its a small community, but we all know how cali is lol, i knew a kid that moved down there and the same night he arrived his car got stolen. There will be soo many 240s out there and im sure alot of people will be looking to jack shit lol. I mean we are in their teritory, and im sure something like this will happen. Dont get me wrong im not hating on cali or the people there, i love it there, im just worried about the few select that are just waiting for this event so they can bank on it. Ive had a car stolen from the nicest neighborhood so im just a little more causious now. I love my bitch i dont want her to get stolen or fucked up lol

We gonna have to pack Heat up there lol

Gotta take the necessary precautions. Kill switches and other ways to deter theft.

Do you guys remember when the AEM s2000 got stolen out of the trailer when it was at the drift even somewhere lol, now thats some hardcore shit right there

I wouldn't sweat getting your car stolen. There will be a lot of very very nice 240s that the thiefs would likely grab first I would think.

I have driven a 34 hour round trip in the 240 over a week. It was fun, but kinda brutal.
